Roles will vary, but this is the kind of work you'd be doing:What you'll doBuild and support data pipelines, ingestion and transformations on modern cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Databricks or Microsoft Fabric)Work with operational data such as equipment telemetry, IoT and time series, and with data from ERP and other enterprise systemsDesign data models and semantic layers that power Power BI dashboards and executive reportingPrepare clean, well governed data for machine learning and AI solutionsHelp set standards for data quality, governance and cost monitoringWork closely with architects, analysts and business teams, and help people self serveWhat you'll bring4+ years of hands-on data engineering experienceStrong SQL and Python (or PySpark)Experience with at least one of Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Fabric or AWS data servicesSolid data modelling skills (dimensional modelling, Power BI semantic models)A practical, friendly way of working with non-technical stakeholdersNice to haveMining, resources, energy or industrial experience, especially with equipment or asset dataExposure to MLflow, ML pipelines or GenAI and RAG solutionsInfrastructure as code (Terraform) and CI/CD for dataIndustrial ontologies or semantic modellingWhy HorizonWork on meaningful data and AI projects with some of WA's biggest operatorsA Perth team that genuinely looks after its people, from first chat to placement and beyondContract and permanent pathways, depending on what suits youEven if you're not looking right now, we'd love to say hi and keep you in mind for the right opportunity.
